4. Create groups
Important:
- The Groups section is only visible if you belong to the tenant user management administrator role.
- The Groups section must only be used if the user management is exclusively done in the SCT and not in eSignatures.
All users created in the SCT must be assigned to a group. You can do this either in the SCT or in eSignatures.
The steps below apply only when using the SCT.
By default, three groups are available:
- User Administrators
- Tenant Administrators
- Administrators
- Default User Group
User Administrators have access to the user management of the SCT. The customers' initial admin can add additional users to this group to allow them to access the SCT and manage users.
Note that a configuration must be done on Connective side for this group to be visible. Should it be missing from your SCT, contact Connective at service@connective.eu.
Tenant Administrators have access to the Theme section of the eSignatures Config Index, to rebrand eSignatures environments.
Administrators have access to the eSignatures WebPortal and the Access Management section.
Default User Group members have access to the eSignatures WebPortal and have default user permissions.
To edit an existing user group:
Click Edit next to the group you want to edit.
To add members to the group:
- Click in the Members field to view the members that are not part of the group.
- Select the members you want to add.
- Click Save.
To remove members from the group:
- Click the X icon next to the members you want to remove.
- Click Save.
Important: it is strongly recommended not to change the names of the default groups. Should you still decide to do so, make sure to change their name within the eSignatures tenant as well.
To create a user group:
- Click Create.
- Enter a Name for the group.
- Click Create.
- Click Save to save the settings.
- Once a group has been created, you can edit it and add users.
- Follow the steps above to add members to the group.
Once the required groups have been created, you need to recreate them in your Connective solution. Important: The mapping of the groups is done based on the group name, so make sure to use the exact same name. Otherwise the permissions will no longer function, and users won’t be able to access their required components.
Also note that the permissions of the user groups – i.e. which components they’re allowed to access and which actions they’re allowed to do – are not defined within the SCT, but in the Connective solutions themselves. In the SCT, you only define which users must be part of which group.
