Smart Documents 7.0 - Access Rights Management (hosted environments)
Introduction
In Smart Documents environments hosted by Connective, the access rights to two components must be configured:
- Access rights to Sketch
- Access rights to the API
Access rights are defined within roles. A role is essentially a group of users and has one or multiple permissions. All users belonging to a role are only allowed to do the actions defined by the role permissions.
In a default configuration, customers have one standard role for Sketch and one standard role for the API. All users belong to the standard role, and each role encompasses all possible permissions.
This default configuration obviously doesn't suit all business needs, since not all users will require the same permissions.
Customizing access rights
Connective can customize the roles based on your business needs. In order to do so, customers need to contact [service@connective.eu][mailto:service@connective.eu] and provide us with the following essential information:
Which permissions are required for which users.
In this case Connective creates the necessary roles with the required permissions, and then assigns the right users to each role.
Describe the roles you have in mind.
For instance, an "editors" role, whose users only edit templates, a "viewers" role whose users are only allowed to view the saved templates but not edit them, etc.
Connective then decides which permissions are required for each of those roles and does the necessary configuration.
Once they configuration is done and the hosted environments have been updated, we can share the configuration info.
In the following sections we explain how a customization works and which permissions are available for each of the components.
