1. Smart Documents 7.0 - Release Notes
Release date: 2020-11-27
1.1 New features and improvements
Major performance upgrade
The performance upgrade in Smart Documents 7.0 boosts your dynamic document flows and provides faster document generation times and higher load volume. Our performance tests have shown generation loads that passed up to twice as fast for document generations and up to 6 times faster for mail generations, compared to load tests in Smart Documents v6.
Straightforward implementation
Smart Documents 7.0 has moved from a components-based to a one-box solution. You now have one generic Connective Server to install and configure instead of various separate components.
Scalability
In Smart Documents 7.0 you can now configure and manage n number of flows in the central Connective Server, instead of having to configure multiple flows in different Toolkit instances.
New API
Smart Documents 7.0 comes with a new API, consisting of a Model API, a Request API and a Version API.
The new API, together with the new workflow, allows for a faster response time and lower data transfer per request.
Azure Service Bus
Besides Apache Active MQ, Azure Service Bus is now also supported as queueing system.
Note that this is only the case for environments hosted by Connective.
New LibreOffice version
Smart Documents 7.0 comes with version 6.3.4.2 of LibreOffice.
New notation method for publish paths
Now that Smart Documents ideally works in DTAP workflow containing multiple stages, the notation method of publish paths has been improved. The stages are now mentioned behind a forward slash instead of a hyphen.
The new publish paths look as follows:
For LibreOffice templates: /<'name'>/<'stage'>/<'unit'>/<'modelkey'>/<'languagemodel'>/compiled.lgp
For responsive email templates: /<'name'>/<'stage'>/<'unit'>/<'modelkey'>/<'languagemodel'>/compiled.cep
Improved eSignatures integration
The Smart Documents REST worker now also supports packages containing multiple documents, instead of the so-called Instant Packages, containing only a single document.
This way, multiple documents can be sent to eSignatures simultaneously.
